1965 was the dawning of a new day in American automobiles. In 1964, on a trivial budget, Ford Motor Company had set out on a race against time, to produce the car that was earlier obligated to be the official pace car for the Indianapolis 500. The Ford designers would have no conception of how pivotal their design would be to American history. The 1965 Ford Mustang was anticipated to sell at 100,000 units, but after selling 22,000 the first day, Ford knew they had something special. This 1965 Ford Mustang remains veiled in all of its original impressiveness. This 2-door hardtop is shielded in a delightful and newer Phoenician Yellow that is heightened by Ridler Silver painted wheels. As you settle into the original front bench seat and gape at the brand new and offsetting black vinyl interior and carpet, you will notice the addition of under dash gauges, as well as, an aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette Stereo and accompanying rear window speakers. Front disk brakes sitting just behind the Mastercraft Avenger P225/50/R13 Tires are a supplementary feature of comfort and performance on this car as well. Recent elevations to this beauty include, a newfound fuel tank and sending unit, fresh control arm shafts, and updated front coil spring mounts. Under the hood is the original, 84,216-mile 6 cylinder, 200HP engine. The engine features a recently rebuilt carburetor, new valve cover gaskets, and a spanking new fuel pump, all to ensure smooth performance and years of gratification. The well running powerplant is coupled to a smooth operating floor mount automatic transmission for leisurely Sunday drives. Nearly all original, this mustang still parades all of the luster that it originally bestowed six decades ago. As true of a classic as you will find, this Mustang aspires to be exalted for many more decades to come. It just needs a new driver behind the wheel to showcase its vast envy and adoration.
