Plymouth remained committed to the intermediate car market as the ball dropped on 1967. With subtle changes to the Belvedere line, the new styling had a focus on simplicity and a wide stance. Venturing away from appearance alone, the underlying focus was in fact, performance, specifically motorsports performance. Plymouth was determined to break up the Ford strangle hold of the NASCAR Grand National Series, and the Belvedere was at the forefront of that battle. It would stand that that hard fought crusade became a realized victory, as Richard Petty drove to 10 straight wins, 27 victories, and a second Grand National Championship, while holding the wheel of a Belvedere. While racing was a focus, Plymouth did not give up on luxury either. The Belvedere Satellite boasted all that luxury and luster, as Plymouth’s top of the line offering for 1967. Sporting an optional and throaty 318, matched with the aforementioned top of the line feel, this car will transcend you to that very time in history.  With only 38,153 actual miles this Satellite is hardly broke in mechanically, in stately exterior condition, and eager to be your new Sunday driver. While not quite up to winning best in show at the cruise in, this time honored vehicle is in fine condition through and through. It has been recently fitted with a new black vinyl top and a new coordinating black interior, starting its path back to the faultlessness of yesteryear. The exterior is a fetching Daffodil Yellow that looks masterful in contrast to the black top. The paint is still nice, but might need to be upgraded if car show prizes are you ambition. The outside is refined further by way of Weld Racing Wheels shrouded in new 15” BF Goodrich rubber, duel exhaust, and a brand new windshield. Settling inside you will find under dash oil and water gauges, an Audiovox AM/FM/Cassette, and the customary front bucket seats that flank the automatic console shifter. For additional comfort this car is also equipped with air conditioning, though it is in need of a replacement fan. Overall, this is a true driver. This mid-sized piece of history runs and drives splendidly. So if your Sunday aspirations are leisurely drives after church, this cars for you. If you feel Sundays are better spent at car shows, this car is still for you too. It will just require a little more love to bring it back to full grandeur. But at this price point, there will be plenty of money left in your pocket to buy your newfound love all the lavish gifts you want.
