When 1956 was drawing to a close, Chevrolet engineers were in a Panic. Ford was debuting a new car and they were in a race against the clock to upgrade their widely successful 1956 Belair to be a worthy adversary. With too many constraints to venture into an entirely new car, focus was amended to elevating the current car. With astute thinking and revolutionary vision, Chevrolet made slight but commanding alteration to the new 1957 model, those attributes are still gloried today by many, that still view the 1957 Chevy as the most stylish car ever produced. The new Belair showcased a wide chrome grill, defined rear fins, a new dash, hood rockets and front bumper bullets, making it well-known that the Chevrolet engineers had undoubtedly hit the mark in styling. Being certain to leave no area overlooked, the designers even went as far as to hide the fuel filler door behind the left rear fin, and the movement of the headlights allowed for an eye-catching chrome bezel to set off a classic look at the cars front. The designers even improved the overall stance of the car by swelling the tires to a 15” compound, doing away with the tried and true 14’s of old. From grill to taillights this 1957 Chevy Belair 2-door Hardtop Sedan exhibits true class, defined beauty, and unparalleled style, making it one of the most exciting offerings to date for our dealership. Draped in a brand-new and stunning Larkspur Blue and complimenting white, the elegance of this car is incomparable. The outside is further accentuated with wide white wall radial tires, impeccable chrome and trim pieces, as well as, dual exhaust. The cars powertrain features a well maintained and flowing 350 crate engine, with chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake, and 4-barrel carburetor. Other mechanical elements include a Ford 9” rear end, a 700 R4 Transmission, and front disc brakes. The car has also recently been upfitted with new trunk and door seals, new rear window regulators, and a newly installed vintage heat and a/c system. Inside is as lustrous as the outside, displaying the same unmatched style by way of a complementing and well-cared for teal interior with dark inserts. Just as it rolled off the line in 1957, this Belair is exploding with style and demanding admiration. Through a little bit of love and some tasteful upgrades, this car is ready for decades of further envy. The only thing it needs is a new owner to help it show off and gloat a little.
